Rebranding A World Champion Cheese
For over four generations, Henning Cheese Company has consistently produced the finest award-winning cheddar cheese in the world. They are a small, family-run operation in Kiel, Wisconsin with ties to local dairy farms. When it was time to upgrade their logo, packaging, website and messaging, they turned to STIR.
Modernizing a logo without losing authenticity
The Henning Cheese logo was dated and prominently featured the state of Wisconsin. STIR presented multiple options to arrive at a new design that felt more contemporary, while still honoring the brand’s history and heritage.






Streamlining packaging design
In this case, less was definitely more. STIR developed a new design system for Henning packaging that featured color-coded “stamps” to differentiate varieties. We also developed mouthwatering product descriptions, and eliminated unnecessary elements to make the packaging more impactful and aesthetically pleasing.

Developing a website that captures quality
Henning’s website was built to tell a story that emphasizes the product quality. Like the company it represents, the website is simple and focused on one thing – quality.


Introducing the new Henning identity to the trade world and the public
Trade and consumer PR were used to efficiently and effectively spread the word to national and regional media. This resulted in multiple high-profile media hits. The new identity was launched at the Fancy Foods Show in Las Vegas. Pictured below are Christy Henning, Kert Henning and Brian Bennett (center).

Bringing the identity home through signage and vehicle wrap
