STIR Advertising & Integrated Messaging (STIR) is looking for a detailed and energetic public relations enthusiast to serve as our paid, part-time Public Relations Intern. The newest member of our public relations team will work in-person at our office in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point neighborhood.
The Public Relations Intern will enjoy playing a key role in content development, client reporting and media pitching on a variety of client accounts.
Characteristics:
- Interested in earned media and has a knack for finding the newsworthy hook to every client story
- Strong writing foundation
- Driven by details and has a firm understanding of grammar and AP Style
- Friendly and outgoing personality
- Inquisitive in nature
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Junior or Senior studying Marketing, Communications, or Journalism
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Draft press releases, blog posts, media pitches and byline articles
- Manage media lists and coverage monitoring
- Assist with earned media reporting by managing client earned media trackers
- Actively participate in company-wide brainstorms, meetings and discussions
- Research and help identify news hooks and the right reporters to share client news with
- Attend media shoots and build relationships with local reporters
